Structure Description
This massive vernacular brick duplex, built in 1859, sits west of a parking lot in the midst of an early hub of German settlement on Kentucky Street. The duplex is created by mirror imaging two, two-thirds double pile houses with the entries located at the center of the street facade. The duplex displays numerous vernacularized elements of the Greek Revival style; this and its great size set it apart from other pre-Civil War vernacular houses in Quincy.
