Structure Description
Local architect Ernest Wood designed this residence with a mixture of influences. The asymmetrical massing, the wood shingles on the second story surfaces, the bay windows, and the full facade porch are all features common to the Queen Anne style. The Tudor style is expressed in the design by the solid brackets supporting the porch columns, the diamond panes of the attic windows, and the barge board under the gable roof. However the flared overhanging eaves are neither Queen Anne nor Tudor elements but a Dutch Colonial detail.
